there are two brothers. ed and al. their mom dies and they try to bring her back with alchemy. but al loses his body and ed ties his soul to the suit of armor and ed loses one leg and one arm. that's pretty much the first episode. the sctual serise is about them trying to find a way to restore their bodies.

it's called "life like a boat" by Rie Fu if you watch bleach ending ( i think first one ) there is the translation too...:D
